Cost Guide
Drone photography cost in New Jersey: what sets the price.
We don't publish rates, because no two jobs are the same. Five factors decide what a drone shoot costs; here is each one, and how to keep your quote lean.
1. What you need delivered
The biggest factor. A set of edited aerial stills is one scope; an edited, color-graded video with titles and licensed music is another; an orthomosaic map stitched from hundreds of overlapping photos is a third. Stills alone are the lightest. Finished video adds editing time for every minute delivered. Capturing stills and video on the same visit is the efficient choice, because the travel and setup are shared.
2. The site itself
Size and complexity set the flight time. A single storefront is a short flight; a 200-acre golf course, a logistics park, or a high-rise photographed at several altitudes takes longer and more batteries. Obstacles such as towers, trees, and power lines also shape how the site can be flown safely.
3. Airspace over the property
Parts of Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Union, and Morris counties sit inside the controlled airspace around Newark Liberty, Teterboro, and Morristown airports. Flights there need FAA authorization, usually through LAANC within minutes, occasionally through a direct FAA request with longer lead time. A quote for a site in controlled airspace should say how the authorization will be handled.
4. Editing
Unedited images straight from the camera cost less but rarely meet marketing standards. Our standard is individually edited stills: exposure, color, lens distortion, horizon, and distractions corrected on every frame. Twilight composites and detailed retouching add editing time beyond that.
5. Schedule and recurrence
A flexible date lets us pick the best light and combine your shoot with others nearby; a fixed deadline takes priority on the calendar. Recurring work, such as monthly construction progress, costs less per visit because the planning is done once for the whole program.
Location and travel
Distance and travel time are part of every quote, along with any airspace authorization the location needs. Both are priced into the quote before anything is scheduled.

Drone photography cost questions
Why don't you publish prices?
Because a single rate card either overcharges simple jobs or underprices complex ones. A short listing shoot in open airspace and a monthly progress program next to Newark Liberty are different jobs, so each gets its own quote.
Is drone photography cheaper than it used to be?
The aircraft are cheaper; the rest of the work isn't. Certification, insurance, airspace authorization, flying skill, and editing account for most of the cost, and they are what separate marketing-grade images from hobby footage.
Does hiring for photos and video together save money?
Usually. Travel, airspace authorization, setup, and waiting for the right light are shared when stills and video are captured on the same visit, and the quote reflects that.
How do I get an exact number?
Send the address, what you need, and your deadline through the quote form. A pilot checks the site and airspace and replies with a specific quote. There is no site visit and no obligation.
